I think it would be very wonderful and classy if Monster chipped in for Sarah’s family but I don’t think people should start getting angry at them if they don’t. It’s not an obligation, it would be an act of kindness. Acts of kindness should be performed organically, not under pressure from others.
I don’t drink or endorse Monster, or any other energy drink for that matter. This is a matter of principle. Speaking objectively, I just don’t see why people are generating all this animosity when it was never provoked. That just seems unfair.
Can we not be bigger than that and put our own individual efforts towards appreciating what she did in her life and remembering the positive things she brought to us? Why are we turning this story into a hate mob and trying to force others to act? If you want to donate, do so instead of just waiting for others and then getting mad if they do or don’t.
If Monster wants to donate they can do so. We all had a part in her life one way or the other. We were proud of her as a fellow Canadian. Monster sponsored her because they appreciated her too. They did so on their own volition, not because we were expecting them to. They are no more responsible for Sarah’s passing than you or I.
Do your own part. Let’s not let this become something ugly.
Note: At the time of this post, it was reported that Monster Energy has indeed gone ahead and offered support. Now can we stop the madness?
